DAY 1: Guests meet at approximately 6:30 am at our office at 625 Riversands Road. We will give you an exact meeting time during check-in the day before your departure. Once your car is securely parked in our enclosed property, we recommend you leave your car keys behind in our office so they don’t take a swim if you do. If you don’t have a car, we can arrange transportation to our office. After everyone has arrived and loaded their bags, we’ll transport you to the Canyonlands Airfield. From there, you’ll enjoy a scenic flight over wide open desert and tall mesas to an airstrip overlooking the Green River. A guide will meet you at the planes and lead you down the 1.5 mile (downhill) trail to the waiting boats, while a baggage truck transports the gear. Your trip leader and guides will then give an orientation on river safety and load everything up to get underway. An outboard motor will help you cruise through flatwater today, providing ample opportunities to relax, swim, and take in the views. You’ll pull into camp with plenty of time to set up a cozy home away from home as the guides prepare a scrumptious dinner.
DAYS 2-4: After a night under brilliant stars in a dark sky, you’ll wake to a hearty breakfast and push off to begin the day’s adventures. In between exhilarating rides through the rapids, you’ll enjoy swimming, water fighting, sunbathing, talking with the interesting people you’ll meet on the river, exploring spectacular side canyons, digging your toes into hot sand during a picnic lunch, speculating about the stories behind ruins and petroglyphs, marveling at the grandeur of huge canyon walls, sampling the best of camp cooking, and cozying around a fire to tell stories at the end of the day.
DAY 5: Savor the last few splashy rapids on the morning of Day 5 as you approach the take-out at Swasey’s Rapid, just a few miles from the town of Green River, Utah. Your guides will set out a tasty buffet lunch and then pack everything up while you relish a last taste of Green River scenery. You’ll take a comfortable van or bus back to Moab, arriving at our office by around 3:00 pm.
